Landale Signs(TM) continues to display innovation and creativity by placing in three of four categories and earning top honors at the 2009 Alberta Sign Association (ASA) Sign Design Competition. The competition recognizes excellence in the sign industry for talented and creative sign designers. Sign design is a unique skill that involves an artistic eye and a command of spatial concepts and application. The competition evaluates professional quality and appearance; inventive use of material and technology; creativity; impact of logos; and practical use of design.
Landale Signs(TM) was awarded first place in the prestigious Illuminated Freestanding Sign category for its creativity in designing the LAMBA Business Park freestanding illuminated pylon sign. LAMBA Business Park is a medium scale office and business development project located in Edmonton Alberta. The signage goal was to differentiate the customer by providing visually stunning pylon identification that was a reflection of the client’s professional brand. The sign was constructed to attract tenants within a very competitive landscape. Features of this sign include original artistic design, custom sheet metal fabrication, back-lit routered faces, halo-lit channel letters, illuminated cabinets and premium quality vinyl graphics.
Landale Signs(TM) earned Honorable Mention (2nd Place) in the Non-Illuminated Sign category for specialty graphics created on large digital prints for Freson Brothers as it re-branded its grocery stores with a heritage look and feel. Honorable Mention was also earned by Landale Signs(TM) in the Vehicle Wrap category for its cutting edge creation of three dimensional designs that were used for the Brick’s fleet of delivery trucks across Canada.
Michael Yurechuk, Executive Vice President of Landale Signs(TM) explains “it truly is an amazing accomplishment for our team to earn a top two placing in seventy-five percent of the contest categories especially when you consider the sheer amount of talent and competition across the province. It is a privilege to be awarded with this type of recognition especially when judged amongst a group of your peers. The sign industry is continually pushing the envelope in terms of design and innovation and I am very proud of the achievements of our creative design, fabrication and installation teams. Our customers are the real winners as our unique signage solutions help them to communicate as effectively as possible with their customer base so they can increase revenues and gain the competitive edge.”
