Darrell Brown, Owner, President

Darrell Brown is the President of Landale Signs™. He purchased the business in 1995 and under his leadership he increased revenue over 20 fold and transitioned the firm from a local operator to a national sign company. He helped shape the Alberta sign industry by introducing a multitude of innovative signage products and solutions. Prior to leading Landale Signs™, Darrell was National Sales Coordinator for a major sign manufacturing firm and enjoyed top sales for 14 consecutive years. As an ambitious and driven entrepreneur he opened the first IGA grocery store in Slave Lake Alberta in 1971. He is married to his high school sweetheart and is proud of his three children. Darrell likes fast cars, really fast hi-octane muscle machine type cars.

Darrell has over 30 years experience in the sign industry and over 40 years experience in business management.

Darrell received his Business Administration diploma from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1966. Recognized as a pillar in the Edmonton business community he has supported dozens of local charities with his philanthropic efforts for the past 30 years.

Peter Cross, Art Director

Peter Cross is the Art Director. As an award winning designer, he oversees the visual, artistic and creative direction for Landale Signs™. As a visual communications expert he specializes in capturing a customer’s brand and expressing it in the best possible fashion on paper. Having created tens of thousands of signage designs he embraces innovation and understands the importance of customer perception. Peter aspires to be a renegade pilot in Honolulu where he surfs by day and thunders out rock n roll by night.

Peter has 33 years experience in the sign industry and has served Landale Signs™ for the past 12 years.

In 1977 Peter Graduated from the Northern Alberta Commercial Sign Program and has deep experience in dozens of graphic and visual design programs.

Laurel Dalton, Permit Manager

Laurel is the Permit Manager. Permits are more than mere suggestions; it is law in many jurisdictions and often a critical phase in the completion of a signage project. As an industry expert, she specializes in the permit application process for nearly every City across Canada. Her vast expertise allows Landale Signs™ to properly and efficiently process permits which results in shorter production cycles and higher customer satisfaction. When not at work Laurel enjoys the fast paced life of preserving vegetables from her garden.

Laurel has 23 years of experience in the sign industry and over 10 have been spent with Landale Signs.

She is a graduate of the Academic Arts Program in Kimberley BC.

Laura Brown, Marketing Manager

Laura is the Marketing Manager for Landale Signs™. She has been involved in the sign industry for most of her life, going on out of town sales calls with her father before she was old enough to attend school. When the Brown family purchased Landale Signs™ in 1995, it was truly a family endeavour. Laura began working in the shop, helping wherever needed, most notably in doing out of town store interior installations and helping with the screen printing. Laura then moved on to doing receptionist duties until she returned to University. Upon her graduation from the University of Alberta, Laura came back on board full-time at Landale Signs™ as the Bookkeeper/Office Manager, and once that role was tackled, she moved into the role of Account Manager. Always looking for a new challenge, Laura has recently taken on the task of spearheading Landale Signs’™ first ever Marketing and Human Resources Department.

When not at work, Laura is a dedicated equestrian rider, enjoying competing across the country at show jumping competitions.
